The term covenant may be used as a noun or as a verb. In most of the texts written in English by Spanish-speaking people, I see they use “covenant” as a noun only, so I thought this could be useful:
- a binding agreement; contract
- an agreement in writing under seal, as to pay a stated annual sum to a charity
- a particular clause in such an agreement, especially in a lease
- (in early English law) an action in which damages were sought for breach of a sealed agreement
- to agree to a covenant
In the following e-Legal Lessons, we will analyze many of the classifications of covenants.
