15/5/19 Dépeçage

The process of cutting up a case into individual issues, each subject to a separate choice-of-law analysis.
Because choice of law analysis is issue-specific, different state laws may apply to different issues in a single case.
In common law countries, dépeçage is usually used to refer to a single contract which provides that different parts of the contract shall be governed by different laws.
The term comes from the French word, dépeçage, meaning dismemberment.
