An epidemic is a local outbreak of a disease (or by extension, of anything, usually something bad).
A pandemic is the spread of a disease across a large area, such as throughout a country or worldwide.
But did you know this?
A disease that is endemic to an area or a population is continuously present there; indigenous plants and animals are also endemic to their native area, and a quality that is endemic to a person occurs naturally or habitually.
