Hostile sexism reflects overtly negative evaluations and stereotypes about a gender (e.g., the ideas that women are incompetent and inferior to men).
It entails openly insulting, objectifying and degrading women.
It involves combative and antagonistic view towards women, and often involves the threat that women are trying to gain control over men. It punishes women who do not conform to social roles with aggression and hostility, and rewards women who do conform.
