Illegal alien is the usual phrase for the one who has entered the country illegally. Undocumented worker is a politically correct euphemism. According to Bryan Garner, Illegal should not be considered pejorative in the phrase because (1) it is true (unauthorized entry did violate the law), and (2) illegal is not synonymous with criminal, so it is not a severe aspersion.
