A person (or persons) who steals newly delivered packages from unsuspecting customers’ porches or front door before the items have been secured.
It’s a nasty practice that’s become common enough to warrant the new term. Thieves will eagerly snatch whatever unattended packages they see.
Example:
“Man, I just got my package stolen from a porch pirate.”
