The Difference between Judgment and Sentence
17/05/17 The Difference between Judgment and Sentence
Judgment is the official decision of a court finally resolving the dispute between the parties to the lawsuit.
Judgment is a term frequently confused by Argentines because in Argentina a judgment is referred to as “sentencia” which may look very similar to the term sentence but it’s different. Sentence refers to the punishment ordered by a court for a defendant convicted of a crime. This in Argentina is called “pena”.
