13/6/19 WHAT IS “NETWORKING”?
One term that seems to have multiple meanings in business is networking. For some, networking is about compiling a huge database of names, usually by collecting business cards. Others see networking as the opportunity to get in front of people and personally prospect for business. Still others perceive networking as nothing more than an attempt to be seen and socialize.
Networking may be understood as a process of developing and using your contacts to increase your business, enhance your knowledge, expand your sphere of influence or serve your community.
I liked this definition pretty much. However, it evolved for better into this:
Networking is the process of developing and activating your relationships to increase your business, enhance your knowledge, expand your sphere of influence or serve the community.
The changes might seem small but they are significant. Did you notice them?
