What is the Right of Publicity?
12/7/17 What is the Right of Publicity?
The right of publicity if a form of intellectual property right that protects the name, image, and identifying persona of a natural person (but not that of a corporation or other entity) against unwanted or unauthorized use. Infringement of this right is a form of unfair competition and is actionable in a lawsuit as a commercially wrongful activity.
